louisiana hot crab dip
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F
1/2 pound jumbo lump crabmeat, free of shells
1 (8) ounce package cream cheese
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
3 tablespoons minced green onions (white and green parts)
2 large garlic cloves, minced
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon hot sauce
1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
Bake 35 - 40 minutes
Serve with Ritz crackers.
the best banana bread
1/3 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 cup mashed bananas
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 & 3/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Sprak a 9x5 loaf pain with cooking
spray and set aside.
In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, buttermilk and oil until well
Add in mashed bananas, both sugars and vanilla and mix well.
Sift in flour, baking soda and salt and mix in nicely, do not over mix.
Pour into greased loaf pan and bake at 325 degrees F for about an
hour. Check at an hour by doing the toothpick test*. Bake longer
as needed until cooked through.
* Put a toothpick into the center. If it comes out clean, it is done. If
it comes out with ingredients on it, cook longer.

8 cups tomato juice
1/3 cup horseradish
1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tablespoon hot sauce (if you like it really hot, add a tablespoon)
2 teaspoons sea salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper

spaghetti sauce with ground beef
This is a wonderful recipe I got from Jennie Fairbanks, the best spaghetti I've ever tasted. And I'm half Italian.
1 pound ground beef
1 onion, chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes
1 (16 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
2 teaspoons dried oregano
2 teaspoons dried basil
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1. Combine ground beef, onion, and garlic in a large saucepan.
Cook and stir until meat is brown and vegetables are tender. Drain
2. Stir diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and tomato paste into the
pan. Season with oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer
spaghetti sauce for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
