Jack Kerouac once wrote that he considered the
following the "essentials of prose":
- Accept loss forever
- Be submissive to everything, open, listening
- No fear or shame in the dignity of your
experience, language and knowledge
- Be in love with your life
I use the third essential as justification for not
picking my writing apart and finding all the things
that are wrong with it. I try to focus on the fact
that expressing myself is the most important
thing. So, with that warning, I am putting some
of the poems I have written over the years on
this site.
