Workhouse Arts Center, September 20, 2008

The Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton, VA had its Grand Opening on
news) and there was a segment on the Center.  It used to be a
minimum security prison that was converted to an arts center that is
reminiscent of the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, VA.  There are
several buildings.  It was very interesting.  You can see from my pics
below that there is evidence of the old structure in the broken
windows.  I wonder if they left it that way for effect.  Also, when
you enter into each separate building, you walk down long hallways
where studios branch off.  You can tell that these studios once
housed prison cells.  Very interesting.
