If I speak in the tongues of men and angels, but
have not love, I have become sounding brass or
a tinkling symbol.

And if I have prophecy and know all mysteries
and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so as to
remove mountains, but have not love, I am
nothing.

body that I may boast but have not love, nothing
I am profited.

Love is long suffering,
love is kind,
it is not jealous,
love does not boast,
it is not inflated.

It is not discourteous,
it is not selfish,

It does not rejoice over the wrong, but rejoices
in the truth

It covers all things,
it has faith for all things,
it hopes in all things,
it endures in all things...
But now remains
faith, hope, love,
these three;

but the greatest of these is love.

Psalm 91

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will
rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my
fortress, my God, in whom I trust."

Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare
and from the deadly pestilence.

He will cover you with his feathers, and under
his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will
be your shield and rampart.

You will not fear the terror of night, nor the
arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that
stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that
destroys at midday.
A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand
at your right hand, but it will not come near you.

You will only observe with your eyes and see the
punishment of the wicked.

If you make the Most High your dwelling—even
the LORD, who is my refuge - then no harm will
befall you, no disaster will come near your tent.  
For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up
in their hands, so that you will not strike your
foot against a stone.

You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you
will trample the great lion and the serpent.

"Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will
rescue him; I will protect him, for he
acknowledges my name.
He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will
be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and
honor him.
With long life will I satisfy him and show him my
salvation."

Psalm 27

The LORD is my light and my salvation—whom
shall I fear?

The LORD is the stronghold of my life—of whom
shall I be afraid?

When evil men advance against me to devour my
flesh, when my enemies and my foes attack me,
they will stumble and fall.

Though an army besiege me, my heart will not
fear; though war break out against me, even
then will I be confident.

One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek:  
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the
days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the
LORD and to seek him in his temple.

For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in
his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his
tabernacle and set me high upon a rock.

Then my head will be exalted above the enemies
who surround me; at his tabernacle will I
sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make
music to the LORD.

Hear my voice when I call, O LORD; be merciful
to me and answer me.

My heart says of you, "Seek his face!" Your face,
LORD, I will seek.

Do not hide your face from me, do not turn your
servant away in anger; you have been my
helper. Do not reject me or forsake me, O God
my Savior.  
Though my father and mother forsake me, the
LORD will receive me.

Teach me your way, O LORD; lead me in a
straight path because of my oppressors.  Do not
turn me over to the desire of my foes, for false
witnesses rise up against me, breathing out
violence.

I am still confident of this:  I will see the
goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.

Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and
wait for the LORD.
